Doora Experience

“Having a product training vehicle was such a valuable addition to the whole process.  We got to easily see, test, and touch the products ourselves so we can make a much better-informed decision about how the products can meet our current needs.”

– Alison Moore, Senior Health & Safety Advisor, NHS Highland

Doora: Up to Do Good

(Lifesaving door safety brought directly to your facility)

Doora was created with one clear purpose, to make it easier for clinical teams to experience lifesaving design on their terms and where it matters most.

We know that seeing innovation in action brings it to life. So instead of asking teams to come to us, we bring Doora, and the full power of our safety solutions, directly to their doorstep.

From our anti-barricade doorset, which allows staff to safely access a room in just two seconds, to our full-door ligature alarm, the only system in the world that monitors the entire door surface and alerts staff instantly if a ligature is applied. Doora makes it possible to see, feel, and test these features in a real-world setting.

By creating hands-on, on-site experiences, we help clinical teams explore how these details work together to save lives, restore dignity, and support recovery.

Miles of Progress: Doora’s Journey Through the Mental Health Landscape

(Bringing lifesaving door safety innovation to mental health facilities across the UK and Ireland)

Since its launch, Doora by Safehinge Primera has been on a mission to transform mental health environments across the UK and Ireland, travelling over 18,000 miles in its first year alone. Through hands-on clinical training and on-site demonstrations, Doora has connected with more than 60 mental health facilities, including leading NHS Trusts and private care providers.

At every stop, Doora has given clinicians and estates teams the chance to experience our anti-barricade door systems, ligature-resistant doors, and the world’s only full-door ligature alarm, innovations that redefine what safety looks like in modern mental health care. These live demonstrations help teams see how thoughtful design can prevent harm, restore dignity, and support patients’ recovery journeys.

Each visit strengthens our shared goal of creating safer, more therapeutic spaces for recovery. And as Doora continues to travel, we’re deepening partnerships, sharing expertise, and driving meaningful change across the mental health landscape.

Join us on the road to a safer, more compassionate future for mental health care, one built on innovation, collaboration, and care that’s truly up to do good.

Mental Health Doorset Demonstrations

Experience our lifesaving door safety innovations through the eyes of clinical teams.

When Safehinge Primera visited NHS Highland, our team brought Doora, our mobile demonstration vehicle, to showcase our latest mental health door safety solutions, including our fully alarmed, ligature-resistant bedroom doorsets.

Here’s what Alison Moore, Senior Health & Safety Advisor at NHS Highland, had to say about the experience:

“Today, we had a visit from Safehinge Primera to showcase their doors to our NHS Board staff, specifically their fully alarmed patient bedroom doors. We were met with two friendly, smiling and approachable Safehinge Primera staff who were more than happy to answer all of our questions. Even under pressure, they never shied away from anything we asked.

What impressed us most was that when our staff raised patient-specific questions, such as wearable technology, these scenarios had already been explored in partnership with health sector professionals during product design. It was clear that the final product was built with safety and collaboration in mind.

Having a product training vehicle was such a valuable addition. We could see, touch, and test the doors for ourselves, helping us make better-informed decisions about the solutions that meet our needs. It was great to hear our clinical staff leaving the session talking about the products and sharing their thoughts.

Overall, it was a very positive experience that will help clinical staff in future discussions about reduced-ligature solutions to make our wards safer for patients.”
