Vision panel (Sureview)
Thanks to our passion for feedback, we see things the way our customers do. That’s why we designed a robust metal vision panel with no visible metal fixings on the bedroom side, just like the inside of a front door at home.
The robust metal bead is available in a range of finishes to match every doorset, from RAL colour powder coat to an oak timber effect. Each option blends in seamlessly, proof that robustness does not need to be institutional.
They can be square or rectangle shaped, allowing better observation and light flow. Available glass panel designs vary from standard plain colours to soothing graphic options helping to create a high quality, recovery-focused environment.

How does it reduce self harm?
- All fixings are on the corridor side, eliminating additional metal work and from the bedroom space, aiding recovery
- Beading has a curved edge on bedroom side, minimising the risk of self harm
- The thumb-turn is set back from the door surface, making it harder to use for self-harm
- The improved edge detailing creates a softer design that’s safer and reduces the opportunity for self-harm

Although the vision panel looks more residential than institutional, our vision panels are designed to offer superior safety to reduce self-harm.
One Key
Our vision panel uses our universal staff-only Lifeline key, compatible with our window locks and anti-barricade stops.
The Lifeline Key is designed to keep access safe, simple, and reliable. Its closed keyway lock resists tampering and blocking, ensuring staff can always gain entry when it matters most, with complete confidence that the lock will work first time, every time.
With five spring-loaded forward-facing pins, the keyway automatically closes when the key is removed, protecting against everyday obstructions like tissue or chewing gum.
Available only from Safehinge Primera, the patented Lifeline Key can’t be bought or copied elsewhere. That means only authorised staff can operate the locks, maintaining privacy for service users and peace of mind for staff.
