They look after people’s mental and physical health in hospitals or in the community, and provide a range of mental health services for young people and adults
They required new doorsets as their existing double-leaf corridor doors with surface mounted, scissor-arm closers presented a ligature risk and were regularly over-opened, causing damage. Plus, the leaves were vandalised, requiring regular repainting.

The Challenge
Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust required new doorsets as their existing double-leaf corridor doors with surface mounted, scissor-arm closers presented a ligature risk and were regularly over-opened, causing damage. Plus, the leaves were vandalised, requiring regular repainting.
Another challenge was that the doors were to be installed in a live ward, so speed of installation was important
The Solution
They chose our Symphony corridor doorsets as the perfect replacement (extra-wide, single leaf doorsets).
Offering superior safety and durability
Installing our single-leaf doorsets with concealed hold-open closers offered superior safety for service users by reducing the ligature risk.
Using a vandal-resistant PVC facing also helped to brighten the space and minimise regular maintenance costs.
Rapid installation
Because upgrades in a live ward environment can be particularly challenging, our doorsets are designed for rapid-install, minimising the need for service user decant.
We removed and replaced three corridor doorsets for the trust in just one day in a live ward environment.
