auto-ejecting keyway that MINIMISes TAMPERING; IMPROVING Safety

Designed to reduce emergency access time and minimise keyway blocking, the Lifeline keyway is used on a number of our products. Staff only need one key to operate the vision panel, anti-barricade stop, emergency override lockset, en-suite leaves reset and window handles.

How does it work?

The keyway is automatically closed off when the Lifeline key is removed from the lock - meaning nothing can be jammed or tampered with.  It's also patented, meaning it's only available from us and ensuring careful regulation of people with access to keys.

If a staff member has been alerted to an emergency, they can use the same Lifeline key to activate the emergency lever on the Integrated Override Lockset to gain immediate access.

ANTI-BARRICADE STOP

In a barricade scenario, clinical staff can also use the Lifeline key to release the anti-barricade stop which collapses into the door frame - providing emergency access in just 2 seconds.

why the need for a specially designed key?

Why the need for a specially designed key?

We know it’s important to reduce unauthorised use of vision panels, for example by using a standard square drive key.

That's why we developed an anti-tamper keyway for the vision panel for improved privacy and safety.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A COLLAPSIBLE STOP?

What are the benefits of a collapsible stop?

  1. It releases under pressure
  2. Staff are positioned outwith the swing path of the door and with direct line of sight into the bedroom
  3. The audible 'clunk' indicates to clinical staff that the stop has been released
  4. Distinct and separate release/reset functions to avoid confusion

why would the leaves detach?

Our saloon-style bathroom door for patient bedrooms uses load release functionality - meaning the door leaves will detach from the frame when a load of over 8kg is applied.
