The Power of Art in Behavioral Health Spaces: A Webinar Worth Watching

Art is

Art has the ability to transcend barriers and touch the deepest parts of our souls. Its therapeutic qualities have been widely recognized, and in behavioral health inpatient environments, art installations provide a much-needed avenue for expression, inspiration, and hope. By immersing patients in a visually stimulating and calming environment, art promotes a sense of well-being, reduces anxiety, and encourages self-reflection and personal growth.

If you're interested in learning more about the importance of art in behavioral health settings, we invite you to watch the recording of our recent webinar titled "Creating Hope Through Art."

"Creating Hope Through Art."

We hosted the webinar in collaboration with Hospital Rooms, a pioneering charity dedicated to transforming behavioral health spaces through art. The webinar delves into art's profound effects on patient recovery. Tim A Shaw, co-founder and artist from Hospital Rooms, joins us as a guest speaker to share his expertise and experiences in implementing art projects in challenging behavioral health settings.

During the webinar, Tim A Shaw, together with our CEO and co-founder, Philip Ross, explored various aspects of art in behavioral health spaces. They discuss the story behind Hospital Rooms, highlighting the motivation and inspiration behind starting the charity. Additionally, they explore how art and design can facilitate recovery in a space often daunting for patients.

Listen to one of the many stories Tim shared with the audience during the live webinar:

If you're curious about behavioral health wards' future and current designs and how art can contribute to their improvement, this webinar is a must-watch. The 30-minute presentation was followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session, where viewers had the opportunity to gain further insights from the experts.

Striking a Balance: Physical and Psychological Safety

In addition to the insightful discussions on art's impact on behavioral health spaces, our recent webinar went a step further by actively involving the audience in the creative process. We introduced an exciting opportunity for attendees to participate in the design selection for our award-winning Ligature-resistant Bathroom Door, which will be added to our range of finishes.

We are thrilled to announce that Yukako Shibata's exceptional art was chosen, joining two other hospital room designs. Moreover, in our commitment to giving back, a percentage of the sales from doors featuring these inspiring designs will be donated to Hospital Rooms. By integrating art and design into our Bathroom Door, we aim to contribute to the therapeutic and uplifting environment for behavioral health patients, and we are delighted that we can support the cause at the same time.
