OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN
We'd love to hear from you. To find out more contact us.
We've worked together with design experts and clinicians across North America to develop a bathroom door design that can make environments safe, whilst preserving the privacy and dignity of patients facing the journey towards recovery.
Using load release technology, our ligature-resistant bathroom door releases under a maximum weight of 11lbs (the OMH-NY safe limit)
That's why it's the only bathroom door to be approved by and featured in all three major US design guides for behavioral health:
Office of Mental Health New York (OMH-NY): Patient Safety Standards, Materials and Systems Guidelines
Veteran Affairs: Inpatient Mental Health and Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Design Guide
Behavioral Health Facility Consulting: Behavioral Health Design Guide
With over 3000 doors now supplied without incident, the ligature-resistant bathroom door is the safest option for your behavioral health bedrooms.

The load release door leaves simply detach from the pivots if a weight of under 11lbs is applied in any direction - making it the only door to meet the OMH NY safe limit.
For patient groups where a higher maximum release weight would be more suitable, there is also a 20lbs maximum option available.
This design uses larger pivots with stronger magnets.
Magnets secured away inside frame-mounted pivots and inaccessible for tampering or ingestion.

The leaves provide a partial visual screen, enabling clinical staff to carry out a quick head and feet check, without encroaching on patients' privacy or dignity.
We're all greatly affected by our surroundings. They can have a profound impact on our mood, thoughts and feelings.
This is heightened in a behavioral health inpatient setting because people are going through a vulnerable time, and every detail of the built environment can have an impact.
That's why our bathroom door leaves are designed in a variety of plain colors and prints - so that the right design can be chosen to complement the environment.
The soft foam leaves and ultra lightweight nibs significantly minimize the risk of weaponization, whilst the magnets are secured away inside frame-mounted pivots and inaccessible for tampering or ingestion.
Is it fire tested? Yes. It's achieved a Class A rating to ASTM E84 for flame spread and smoke. This cited in NFPA101.
It it water resistant? Yes. The outer PVC material is splash resistant and the edges of the doors are bonded together to protect the internal foam.
Does it pass infection control? Yes. It scored highly given the PVC leaves can be easily wiped clean, and there are no stitched edges which can be a significant infection risk.

On the left is a snapshot of a conversation between a patient reaching out on Twitter, and a member of clinical staff from
East London NHS in England recommending our bathroom door.
Based on feedback from patients, nursing staff, architects and more, we designed a bathroom door that addressed the critical requirements.
