Anti-barricade doorset with electronic locking

With 90% of inpatient suicides tragically occurring in either the patient’s bedroom or bathroom, selecting the right doors that work for both patients and staff is crucial.

Our non-institutional doorsets are available with mechanical or electronic locking, which give patients the independence to lock and unlock their own private space – increasing their sense of self worth and facilitating the recovery process.

If however an emergency does occur, an integrated mechanical override allows staff to gain entry into the room in just 2 seconds – no toolkit required.

Improving patient safety

Our doorsets meet the highest anti-ligature standards whilst the auto-ejecting keyway makes it extremely difficult for anything to be jammed if a patient attempts to prevent staff access.

What does this mean?

As they’re designed specifically for mental health environments, our doorsets and locksets are meticulously tested to reduce all ligature risks. Explore the TS001 testing standards here.

Going that one step further, the auto-ejecting keyway prevents any item being jammed in there by patients in an effort to restrict staff access in a barricade scenario.

Helping clinical staff in an emergency

Designed specifically to make it as quick as possible to gain emergency access, the built-in lever drops down and provides critical pull advantage for staff – without the use of a toolkit.

How does this help?

Staff can operate the vision panel, the anti-barricade stop and the emergency lever using a single key – reducing the time taken to gain access to a patients room in an emergency down to just 5 seconds.

Reducing Restrictive Practice

As recommended by the Care Quality Commission, patients are able to move more freely using their own access wristband – increasing feelings of independence and privacy and dignity.

Designed for patients

Trust, free movement and privacy all contribute to patient dignity; aiding recovery and complying with CQC and HBN 0301 guidance.

Experts by lived experience told us that the act of asking a member of staff to lock and unlock their bedroom undermined their self-worth.

That’s why we developed anti-ligature wristbands with patients in mind.

Light-weight and comfortable to wear, the wristands are programmed with individual patient access into certain rooms.

Electronic access control: ‘breaking down the barrier to getting better’

In line with the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) guidance on reducing restrictive practice, our electronic access control (EAC) system empowers patients with the independence to lock and unlock their own bedroom doors, without compromising on safety.
