Fitzroy House, St Andrews Healthcare
5-way SOS Lockset Installation
Opened in Northampton in 2017, FitzRoy House was purpose-built to provide residential care for up to 110 children and adolescents across 11 wards. Designed in partnership with the young people, its purpose was to set new standards for Mental Health with an emphasis on welcoming, friendly and nurturing environments.
The medium-secure unit serves a diverse range of needs and is home to some of the UK’s most complex Mental Health issues. Therefore, creating a safe and secure environment was a priority, with a homely welcoming feel also vital.

The Challenge
The designers wanted a delicate balance between safety, security and aesthetics, giving peace of mind, with access to rooms in an emergency situation. Reliability under pressure was essential.
The Solution
The designers chose the designers chose our 5-way SOS (Staff Override System).
5-Way SOS (Staff Override System): Our 5-way SOS lockset provides staff with a two-second emergency access feature, essential in high-risk scenarios. As the only electronic lockset with this built-in 5-way override system, it is critical for ensuring quick and safe access for staff.
“Reliability under pressure was essential when the team chose a lockset for Fitzroy House CAMHS. With the 5 Way SOS we ensured access remained uncompromised while integrating a sleek, functional design that complemented the space.” – P+HS Architects
