CWM IFOR PRIMARY SCHOOL

Like many LEAs, Caerphilly County had previously used plastic finger guards but grew frustrated with the lack of durability and need for frequent replacements. They tried a number of different plastic options but none were up to the job in a modern high traffic school environment – which is they chose our integral finger guards.

Providing a discrete and durable solution

The discreet design of the finger guards not only met the School's requirement of superior safety by designing out the problem of trapped fingers but also helped to incorporate flexibility into the building design, embracing the school's culture of community and support.

Plus, the robust design meant it would last the lifetime of the door, reducing the need for regular replacement costs, fitting in with the school's ethos of sustainable design.

Naturally, this was music to their ears – one simple solution to many issues and demands.

Following its refurbishment, the school was shortlisted for RIBA Welsh Architecture Award.
