Doora's impactful journey extends across the UK and Ireland, where we have engaged in clinical training and demonstrations of our innovative doors for mental health environments. In the first year after Doora launched, we travelled an astounding distance of 18,000 miles and reached over 50 mental health establishments, such as NHS trusts and private mental healthcare providers. This remarkable achievement underscores our unwavering dedication to creating therapeutic spaces and fortifying clinical teams in their mission to facilitate patient recovery.
As Doora presses forward, we remain firm in our commitment to bridging gaps and championing progress within mental health. "Today, we had a visit from Safehinge Primera to showcase their doors to our NHS Board staff, specifically their fully alarmed patient bedroom doors. We were met with two friendly, smiling and approachable Safehinge Primera staff that were more than happy to answer all of our questions. I am sure that, at times, they must have felt like they were being interrogated, but it was heartening to see that not once did they shy away from answering any question.
“What was impressive was that when our staff asked patient-specific questions regarding wearable technology as an example, these questions could easily be answered because these scenarios had already been raised as part of the product design that included partnerships with health sector professionals to enable the final product to be as safe as possible.
“Having a product training vehicle was such a valuable addition to the whole process. We got to easily see, test, and touch the products ourselves so we can make a much better-informed decision about how the products can meet our current needs. We also listened to the safety information so we didn't fall out of the vehicle by using the wrong exit door! It was fantastic to hear the clinical staff walking away, talking about the products and discussing their opinions that they had reached.
