Opening in April 2020, this cutting edge 72 bed hospital features 2 single sex adult wards and a further 2 wards for older patients experiencing dementia and serious mental ill health. Patients and carers were consulted from the begining of the project, and their feedback is embedded throughout the development. Tees Esk and Wear Valleys Trust wanted to create a safe environment for patients that also facilitated their recovery.
Ironmongery partner Foris Solutions selected our mechanical 5-Way SOS locksets for this project, installing 350 throughout the hospital.
Our mechanical 5-way SOS locksets were selected for high-risk areas, to ensure staff can override the lock and gain access in an emergency.
It was important for the Priory Group to uphold their 'Outstanding' rating in providing specialised inpatient care in a 'safe and supportive environment'. Choosing the right doors to create this environment was key - which is why our anti-barricade and corridor doors were the perfect fit.
Providing holistic support for older age patients with dementia, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust needed a familiar environment that would help aid the recovery process. That's why they chose to install our Symphony doorsets and anti-ligature locksets and handles throughout.
The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health is one of the first purpose-built adolescent facilities in the UK. East London NHS FT selected our anti-ligature en-suite bathroom doors as they found it to be the only solution to balance safety with patient privacy and dignity.
