Minimising contraband
The designers wanted to minimise the risk of service users being passed contraband from the common courtyard area on the ground floor. That’s why our 3-part window restrictors were chosen.
They required the restrictor tray to sit as close to the bottom of the window as possible, so even a single tablet or cigarette couldn’t pass under the window when it opened. Made to their bespoke requirements, we manufactured them with a gap of less than 4mm.
The perforation holes on the 3-part restrictor meet the Department of Health guidance to allow airflow whilst minimising ligature risk.
