The door release detaches each door leaf from the pivots if a weight of 3kg or more is applied - disrupting the ligature attempt. Whilst strong magnets and pivot mechanism avoids accidental detachment in day-to-day use.

Is the door fire tested?

Yes. It passes both BS EN 597 and BS EN 1021 match flame equivalent.

Is the door water resistant?

Yes. The outer PVC material is splash resistant, and the doors' edges are bonded to protect the internal foam.

Does it pass infection control?

Yes. It scored highly, given the PVC leaves can be easily wiped clean, and there are no stitched edges which can be a significant infection risk.

At Design in Mental Health 2021, we launched our partnership with arts & mental health charity Hospital Rooms to help create spaces that facilitate hope and healing.

Working with the team at Hospital Rooms, we selected three of their original artworks already installed within inpatient mental health facilities across the UK to print onto our award-winning en-suite door.

We showcased all three designs and asked visitors at the event to vote for their favourite. Due to popular demand, we took forward two of the three designs to become part of our standard range!
