The door release detaches each door leaf from the pivots if a weight of 3kg or more is applied - disrupting the ligature attempt. Whilst strong magnets and pivot mechanism avoids accidental detachment in day-to-day use.
The top and bottom swing door hinge magnets within the frame cause the nibs to self-locate into place, offering superior hold whilst minimising unwanted detachments and removing the need to bend down if the leaves need to be reattached.
Swing door leaves design enables clinical staff to perform a quick head and feet check through the bathroom door without the need to disrupt the patient and infringe on their privacy and dignity.
We're all greatly affected by our surroundings. They can have a profound impact on our mood, thoughts and feelings.
The sensitivity to our environment is heightened in a mental health inpatient setting because people are going through a vulnerable time, and every detail of the built environment can impact mental health, doors included.
That's why our doors for bathrooms are designed in various colours and prints - so that the right design can be chosen to complement the environment.
The anti-ligature magnetic pivots can be installed on an existing door frame in under 60 minutes - making it equally suitable for new builds or as a retrofit solution.
Is the door fire tested?
Yes. It passes both BS EN 597 and BS EN 1021 match flame equivalent.
Is the door water resistant?
Yes. The outer PVC material is splash resistant, and the doors' edges are bonded to protect the internal foam.
Does it pass infection control?
Yes. It scored highly, given the PVC leaves can be easily wiped clean, and there are no stitched edges which can be a significant infection risk.
