Mental Health Nurses Training at Cusworth Ward

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Cusworth Ward, a mental health facility located in Doncaster, part of Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

Cusworth Ward is a mental health facility located in the heart of the city. It offers a range of services designed to help individuals with poor mental health. These services include individual and group therapy, medication management, and crisis intervention.

The staff at Cusworth Ward are a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality care to people in vulnerable times. The facility has a welcoming atmosphere that allows patients to feel comfortable and accepted, and the team is committed to providing compassionate and person-centred support for each individual. During our visit, we had the privilege of seeing firsthand their incredible work.

True Heros

We were accompanied by our Mobile Training Vehicle, Doora, and Lee McIntyre, our Product Training Manager, who were warmly welcomed by the staff. During our visit, we were able to observe the clinical staff in action and were amazed by the level of compassion they showed for their patients. Through conversations with the nurses, we uncovered some of the challenges they face on a daily basis.

One of the biggest challenges that the nurses highlighted was the difficulty of keeping an eye on everyone's safety in a busy mental health ward. This is why our products, such as our Full-Door Ligature Alarm, play an important role. By providing an extra layer of security with products like the door alarm sensor, staff at the Cusworth Ward can ensure that patients are safe and secure.

Training with Doora

Visiting Cusworth Ward to deliver clinical staff product training was a great experience for our team. We had the pleasure of seeing first-hand the impact of the recently installed Anti-Barricade Doorsets with an Electronic Access Control System that helps to improve safety and support patient recovery.

Lee McIntyre, Product Training Manager, said:

“It was remarkable to witness the staff's enthusiasm for the new product and their eagerness to learn how to use it in the most effective way.

“The training was comprehensive and interactive, allowing the staff to ask questions and practice using the door. We were also able to receive feedback from the staff, which was invaluable.

“Overall, it was a positive experience, and we are confident that Cusworth Ward will see the benefits of our mental health doors for many years to come.”

We are proud to have been able to provide assistance to the hardworking team at Cusworth Ward and look forward to continuing to support them in the future.
