With resounding success in live trials, we're excited to unveil our collaboration with Paxton. We’ve teamed up to offer the Electronic Lockset, now seamlessly integrated with their popular Net2 system, for a unified and time-saving solution.
New, Seamless Solution for Mental Health Access Control
You spoke; we listened. Recognising the ongoing pressure and staffing challenges faced by Mental Health wards, we acknowledge the importance of creating a streamlined working environment. That's why we've collaborated with Mental Health organisations nationwide, actively seeking feedback and ideas to enhance our innovative Anti-Barricade Electronic Lockset.
As your feedback highlighted, the lockset's guaranteed 2-second access feature is invaluable in emergency situations. However, it also highlighted the opportunity to connect the lockset to existing systems in order to streamline and simplify access control management.
Our collaboration with Paxton marks a significant breakthrough. Together, we have seized this opportunity to provide a seamless electronic access control solution for Estate Managers and Clinicians in Mental Health environments, integrated into one system.
Changes like this are one of the many that reflect our ongoing commitment to improving those challenging environments and supporting clinical teams in providing essential care for patients.

Paxton Access Control: Understanding Net2 System
Paxton’s Net2 access control software acts as the central hub, managing all locksets seamlessly. This sophisticated access control system simplifies security management, enabling efficient control through computers or devices.
This partnership brings together two industry leaders and addresses critical challenges within Mental Health environments. By testing and collaborating to seamlessly combine our lockset with their system, we can now provide a solution that:
- Now integrates with your favourite Paxton system, streamlining access management.
- Empowers patients as they can effortlessly control room access, promoting independence and preserving dignity.
- Provides uncompromised safety with an intuitive override for guaranteed access in 2 seconds, always.
Max Szczerkowski, our Product Design Engineer, shared: "In a recent trial, we tested ten Electronic Door Locks on a busy Mental Health ward with Paxton software.
“The integrated system simplified access management, providing independent, efficient room access without traditional key hassles. Staff and patients loved how easy it was to use the Electronic Lock.
"In particular, clinicians praised the intuitive override feature. It gave them peace of mind, especially in a door barricade situation. The override made sure they could gain access into a room in just 2 seconds, even if there was a power outage or if a patient tried to barricade the door. It made entry quick and reliable.
Independent Access: Supporting Patient Recovery through Empowerment
The benefits of this collaboration extend far beyond the world of technology, by giving patients their own anti-ligature wristbands. They have the ability to control their rooms therefore, nurses don't have to assist them with locking and unlocking doors all the time with using the staff access cards or fobs.
Instead of managing door access, they can focus on what they do best – providing therapy and essential care. Yet, nurses retain the ability to always gain access to the room, especially in case of door barricade emergencies.
The change in roles contributes to breaking down power dynamics, creating a more efficient and nurturing environment for both patients and staff.
Our Electronic Lockset, seamlessly integrated with Paxton, is transforming Mental Health environments. Beyond safety and user experience, this partnership emphasises the power of teamwork in improving Mental Health care. The Electronic Lockset brings practical benefits, aiding patient recovery with secure and easy room access. It also supports staff in their roles, making access management more efficient for a safer environment.
Together, Safehinge Primera and Paxton aren't just enhancing safety; we're shaping a comprehensive approach that positively impacts patients and empowers healthcare professionals. Join us in shaping a better, safer future for Mental Health facilities. Together, we make a difference.
