ANCORA HOUSE, CHESHIRE AND WIRRAL PARTNERSHIP NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

When NHS Tayside built this 12-bed unit for young people who would potentially be living away from home for months,  detail was everything.  So as well as offering the ultimate in safety, the door closers had to feel homely and let service users decide whether to keep rooms open or shut, whilst still allowing staff easy access and observation

Designed with recovery in mind

Designed with recovery in mind

That's why they chose our concealed overhead freeswing door closer. With no closing force during day-to-day use, it behaves just like a domestic door.

And as the trust would be providing care to young people – with some spending months away from home – this helped to assist with normalisation, meeting their requirements of a recovery-focused environment. Yet it also automatically self-closes in the event of a fire alarm, ensuring fire compartments are maintained.

Plus, the backcheck function provides an internal braking mechanism, minimising any potential abuse that could damage the door.

Seamlessly balancing safety and performance

As well as being easy to install, it's the only freeswing door closer that's anti-ligature and anti-barricade. So when it comes to safety and performance, it provided peace of mind on every front.
